Position Summary

The Engineering Generalist supports software development, testing, and technical operations across a variety of projects within the Development organization. Reporting to the Vice President of Data Solutions, this role provides hands‑on exposure to real‑world engineering practices while collaborating closely with experienced engineers and technical partners. The Engineering Generalist contributes to high‑quality, secure, and reliable solutions while developing foundational technical skills in a collaborative environment.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development, testing, and maintenance of software applications by writing clean, well-structured, and maintainable code under guidance.
  • Support verification, validation, and documentation of software features, enhancements, and defect fixes.
  • Helping analyze defects, application logs, and system behavior to identify root causes and recommend improvements.
  • Follow established software quality, security, and compliance standards and processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members to support project goals and delivery timelines.
  • Participate in team meetings, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Ability to travel and/or work onsite as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or a relevant field required.
  • Currently pursuing or having completed Microsoft Azure certification(s) required.
  • Basic working knowledge of T-SQL.
  • Foundational understanding of software development principles and lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with Azure or other cloud environments.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn, accept feedback, and continuously improve technical and professional skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative team setting.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion.
  • Travel and/or onsite work will be on an as-needed basis.

  • Travel to attend team meetings and company events may be required.
  • To facilitate working from home, and as a requirement for this role, the employee must provide reliable internet connection with sufficient bandwidth to execute all job functions and technology setup conducive to remote work. The company laptop will be provided.
  • When working onsite, the employee will collaborate with colleagues in a typical office environment, which may require navigating office spaces, attending in-person meetings, and using shared office equipment.
  • A quiet, distraction-free workspace is required for maintaining productivity.
  • Collaboration with team members may occur through both virtual meetings and on-site interactions.
