About the Role
Novoloop is seeking a Senior Technician – Analytical to support research, process development, manufacturing, and customer programs through high-quality analytical testing and data generation. Working closely with our Principal Scientist – Analytical Chemistry, the ideal candidate for this role is someone who is seeking to develop deep expertise and responsibility in operating and maintaining analytical instrumentation, executing analytical methods, and delivering accurate, reliable data that enables technical decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Analytical Testing & Data Management
- Perform routine and semi-routine laboratory analysis following established SOPs, including sample preparation, instrument operation, data processing, and documentation.
- Perform analytical testing, including GC-MS, LC-MS, FTIR, GPC, NMR, DSC, TGA, UV-Vis, Karl-Fischer Titrations, and other analytical methods (such as mechanical testing) as required.
- Ensure analytical data is accurate, complete, traceable, and delivered promptly.
- Identify analytical anomalies or instrument issues and promptly communicate them to technical leads.
Laboratory Operations
- Support refinement of analytical methods, SOPs, and laboratory workflows to improve efficiency, robustness, and data quality.
- Maintain laboratory notebooks, analytical records, and experiment summaries.
- Assist with calibration, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting of analytical instruments.
- Maintain laboratory inventory of chemicals, standards, and consumables, and coordinate with vendors for supplies and routine service.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and EH&S compliance.
Collaboration
- Support R&D, process development, manufacturing, and customer projects by providing high-quality analytical data.
- Communicate analytical status, timelines, and testing issues to scientists and engineers.
- Assist with training laboratory personnel on analytical procedures as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–6 years of industrial analytical laboratory experience required.
- Hands-on experience with wet chemistry techniques and analytical instrumentation.
- Strong laboratory organization, documentation, and data management skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to analytical accuracy, consistency, and data integrity.
