Job Title: SMB Outside Sales Representative
Location: Remote/Hybrid - Atlanta, GA
Reports to: Director of SMB Operations

Position Summary
Primarily responsible for making sales on behalf of Rubicon and driving revenue results in a defined market area using consultative sales approach that doesn’t focus solely on price. Direct, in-person interactions with customers at customer locations are expected and, depending on the market area, extensive out-of-office and/or out-of-town travel may be required for this job.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Engage in direct sales with existing and potential Rubicon customers
- Prepare, lead, and finalize negotiations and contracts with customers
- Conduct in-person meeting with customers at customer and/or other off-site locations—including, but not limited to, educating customers on service differentiation, pricing, training and value-added during the sales process
- Deliver proposals and assist with negotiation of terms on agreements
- Anticipate how decisions are made and persistently explore customers’ business needs
- Build and maintain a full sales pipeline from prospecting to close in a defined territory
- Work alongside strategic partners in a given market, ensuring alignment on business practices
- Follow up after sales to achieve referrals, grow existing business, and ensure customer satisfaction
- Maintain a high level of integrity, commitment, and trust to exceed expectations in sales and retention of customer accounts
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure a successful launch of services
- Enter all activities and opportunities in CRM tool
- Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
- 1-3 years of B2B outside sales experience, preferably in a service-based industry with long-term agreements.
- Strong knowledge of managing a short sales cycle.
- Experience in selling a service, rather than a product.
- Knowledge of waste industry is a plus.
- Proficiency with Salesforce, other CRM models.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to analyze data and create reports on training effectiveness.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle inquiries and requests efficiently and professionally.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of program management.
- A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion.
- Ability to work independently while also being a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Discretion and trustworthiness in handling sensitive information and supporting high-level strategic initiatives.
