Role Overview
The IT Compute Manager will oversee PureCycle’s compute infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments, with a focus on operational excellence, security, and compliance. This role is central to our shared services model, working closely with outsourced Network Operations Center (NOC), Security Operations Center (SOC), and CMS teams to ensure performance, reliability, and strategic alignment.
The IT Compute Manager will lead efforts to standardize compute operations, optimize resource allocation, and support strategic IT initiatives including micro segmentation, data platform development, and long-term ERP readiness. This role will also lead the Data Governance Board and functions of a Data Privacy Officer (DPO). This position reports to the Director Information Technology.
What You'll Be Doing
Compute Infrastructure Oversight
· Manage virtualized and physical compute environments (Azure, Nutanix).
· Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of compute resources.
· Collaborate with NOC/SOC and Accenture to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents.
Shared Services Coordination
· Act as the primary liaison between PureCycle and outsourced NOC/SOC and CMS teams.
· Refine SLAs, escalation paths, and reporting standards.
· Drive continuous improvement and accountability across service providers.
Cloud and Nutanix Management Services (CMS) Oversight
Work with NOC vendor to ensure deployment and operational readiness of the following CMS components:
· Operating System (OS) Administration, Patching, and Hardening
· OS Patch Management
· Enterprise Application Management
· Availability Management and Monitoring
· Capacity Management
· Data Backup and Recovery
· Storage Management
· Cloud Network Management
· Role Management
· Cloud Platform Engineering
· Compliance Management
· DBA Services
· Middleware Support
Ensure PureCycle meets all prerequisites for each CMS component and collaborate with vendors to implement any missing elements. Responsibilities are defined in associated Responsibility Matrices.
Strategic Data Enablement
· Partner with department heads to define micro-level data requirements.
· Promote micro segmentation and microservices thinking to enable granular data consumption.
· Support the development of a unified data platform aligned with Microsoft technologies.
· Establish and lead the Data Governance Board at PCT and function as the Data Privacy Officer for compliance.
Security & Compliance
· Enforce compute-related security policies and access controls.
· Support SOC visibility, log ingestion, and threat detection initiatives.
· Ensure alignment with SOC 1 Type 2 and other regulatory frameworks.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
· Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or compute operations.
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Nutanix, and virtualization platforms.
· Experience working with outsourced IT service providers (NOC/SOC).
· Familiarity with microservices architecture and data segmentation strategies.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Nice to Haves
Experience in regulated environments for compliance (SOX, SOC, GDPR, etc.) is a plus.
