Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll Manager to join our Accounting & Finance team. The Payroll Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of the company’s weekly, bi-weekly, and bi-monthly payroll across two legal entities at the Company.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage payroll processing for the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Address and resolve any payroll-related inquiries or issues from employees in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Allocate payroll expenses accurately across departments.
  • Stay updated on payroll regulations and ensure the company’s payroll processes remain compliant with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Ensuring records and processes comply with company and legal regulations.
  • Utilize Paylocity to build customized reports and gather necessary payroll data.
  • Oversee the integration and support of time tracking systems, ensuring they align with payroll requirements.
  • As we grow, recruit, mentor and oversee a payroll clerk, ensuring they are well-equipped to contribute to the team’s success.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting, Human Resources departments, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Reconcile payroll balance sheet accounts and assist in uploading payroll data into the Company ERP (Sage Intacct).

  • This position requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of payroll systems, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage payroll processes effectively.
  • The ability to implement best practices and improve quality and efficiency of payroll operations.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a focus on detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong, proactive communication skills to address and resolve issues with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience & Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) a plus
  • Proven 5+ years of experience in payroll operations.
  • Experience with Paylocity preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with Sage Intact or similar ERP systems preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in a multi-entity organizational structure is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting and accounts reconciliation.

Salary:

  • $135,000-$145,000 per year
