We are currently searching for an engineer specializing in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to join our team and help us grow, scale, and continue our tradition of success. The ADAS Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing safety features, managing all steps from stakeholder requirements through system validation and assembly line support. This role will also involve working on requirements and developing camera systems and other vehicle-level features.
This role is critical to our growth. The ideal candidate will be an experienced engineer with a business mindset, a savvy leader, highly organized, and familiar with heavy truck or automotive product development. The successful candidate will also be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, have a strong desire for growth, and be an excellent communicator.
Position Details:
Type: Hybrid (primarily remote with 25%-50% onsite travel to the Battle Motors facility in New Philadelphia, OH)
Travel: 25%-50% onsite travel required in support of requirements; development & vehicle builds.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Interact with stakeholders to understand high-level product feature descriptions and write vehicle, system, and component-level requirements for feature development. Document requirements in JAMA.
- Support feature development through system and feature-level HARA and DFMEA.
- Serve as the in-house expert in ADAS systems for current and future truck products, including production line support for troubleshooting and production testing.
- Act as the lead system engineer for ADAS integration, including developing system architecture, boundary diagrams, and component/supplier selection.
- Develop Human-Machine Interface (HMI) requirements for features for software development.
- Conduct system performance simulations with MATLAB/Simulink and integrate system models into TruckSim vehicle models.
- Interact with suppliers, dealers, and customers as required.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Be comfortable with complex problem-solving and rapidly changing priorities.
