Battle Motors is seeking a CAD Designer to join our dynamic Engineering team. A CAD Designer creates full 3-D models in SolidWorks, creates detail drawings, prepares Bills of Material and prepares ECN's following the Change Management Process in place.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and revise CAD models and drawings of parts for production using SolidWorks and other software systems as required.
  • Proactively participate in a cross functional, team-based environment.
  • Create simple layouts of parts and assemblies for review.
  • Create drawings of design concepts for presentation to current or potential customers.
  • Ensure designs meet design quality, supply and serviceability requirements.
  • Confirm that all designs are complete and fully documented in models, drawings and Bills of Material.
  • Collaborate with and provide support for projects led by other departments as assigned/prioritized.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Associates degree in related field or equivalent education and experience required.
  • 3+ year of practical engineering experience preferred.

Skills / Competencies

  • Understanding of common engineering standards for mobile equipment product development (3D- modeling, design, drafting, GD&T) required.
  • Meaningful experience required in one or more of the following technical areas: mechanical, hydraulics, electrical or other specific engineering techniques and development processes.
  • Knowledge of machined steel fabrication manufacturing techniques and processes, as well as assembly techniques for mobile equipment strongly preferred.
  • Excellent team working and time management skills necessary.
  • Application knowledge of mobile equipment, preferably of heavy truck chassis and systems preferred.

This position will adhere to the Battle Motors Environmental Health and Safety Program by following all safety rules, procedures, practices, training, and safe use of equipment; this includes use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. This individual will work in a way that stresses the importance of preventing injury, accidents, or illnesses to themselves or co-workers by correcting or reporting unsafe situations, incidents, or occurrences to their supervisor immediately.
