Job Overview
The Human Resources Manager, EMEA will provide hands-on, operational HR support across the EMEA region, with primary focus on Italy, the European Union, and South Africa. This role is responsible for the day-to-day administration of HR activities, employee lifecycle management, and ensuring full compliance with Italian labor law, EU employment directives, and local employment regulations.
Operating within a lean HR team with one direct report, this position requires a high degree of autonomy and direct involvement in HR administration, while also supporting regional leadership and aligning with Anaergia’s global HR policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Personally manage and administer core HR operations for EMEA, including hiring, onboarding, employment contracts, contract amendments, role changes, leaves of absence, and terminations.
- Draft, issue, and maintain employment documentation and HR records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with GDPR and local data protection requirements.
- Coordinate payroll inputs, benefits administration, and statutory reporting with local payroll providers and internal finance teams.
- Serve as the primary HR contact for EMEA employees and managers, handling day-to-day inquiries related to policies, benefits, payroll, and employment conditions.
- Independently manage employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, grievances, investigations, and termination processes, in accordance with local labor laws.
- Monitor and ensure ongoing compliance with Italian, EU, and South African employment regulations, and support updates to policies and practices as required.
- Support and implement regional HR initiatives related to workforce planning, performance management, employee engagement, and talent development.
- Oversee immigration and work authorization processes for EMEA employees, as required.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight to regional HR team, ensuring accurate and timely execution of assigned tasks.
- Collaborate with Global HR to ensure consistency of HR policies, processes, and reporting across regions.
- Oversee regional HR budget
- Develop and maintain training program, including compliance and technical trainings
- Oversee Health & Safety requirements for employees, including suitability checks and site necessities
- Be the point of contact for labour consultants, recruitment headhunters and H&S consultant
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong working knowledge of Italian and EU employment law
- Proven experience in a hands-on HR role in Italy; supporting multiple countries or locations preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and discretion in handling sensitive matters.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- At least five years of human resource management experience
