Facility Description:

Anaergia's Camden Facility converts organic waste streams into renewable electricity and fertilizer products that would otherwise be destined for landfill disposal.

Goals:

  • Safety- Develop and maintain a world class culture of safety to be adhered to by all employees and contractors at the site.
  • Compliance - Maintain an immaculate compliance record with all regulatory and governmental agencies.
  • Championing company's policy framework - Support the development of the Company's Vision Statement and the Company's strategy by defining the Standards and code to be practiced, providing resources and implementing HR practices, site security and monitoring, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instruction (WI) around operations, maintenance, production, accounting, safety, environmental monitoring and reporting, documentation, and record-keeping; Support establishment and implementation of facility policies, goals, objectives and procedures that are in line with the Company's Vision Statement and Strategy conferring with other management team members as appropriate.
  • Budget and Revenue – Support meeting the Facility's annual financial and commercial targets. Support reporting on monthly P&L and optimize profitability through operational and maintenance efficiencies and revenue enhancements that will result from market conditions.
  • Abide by all internally established control systems and authorities; Lead by personal example and encourage all employees to conduct their activities in accordance with all applicable laws and the Company's standards and policies, including its safety, health, and environmental policies.
  • Reporting - Effective reporting to help the Facility Manager, Director of Operations, and VP of Plant Operations draw conclusions, make inferences, and elicit crucial decisions.
  • Planning and Procedures - Develop sound planning, roles and responsibilities, procedures, and transparency in operations throughout the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the CHP engine/generator systems and all associated CHP equipment (such as Selective Catalytic Reducer System)
  • Understands the basics of electricity generation
  • Maintains production and performance reports
  • Support in organizing all spares, tools and consumables (Oil, Grease, Seals, Bearings etc.) maintaining records, availability of spares on time
  • Manage a maintenance program to complete preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance tasks
  • Responsible for diagnosing malfunctions of CHP System machinery and equipment
  • Respond to and leads recovery efforts during planned and forced outages
  • Follow all safety SOPs and support in fabrication of temporary lines, pipes, patchwork, weld / grinding or cutting work on site.
  • Manages and conducts safety training in accordance with OSHA requirements for the CHP system
  • Support coordination and management of contractors during overhauls or other contract work for the CHP facility
  • Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality
  • Maintain and repair Co-Generators, pumps, blowers, piping, and valves
  • Follow PM schedule, routine field inspection of all equipment, complete daily site walks to ensure equipment visual health, completing routine greasing and oil top up runs, and filling completed preventive maintenance work requisition/ Job Order completion on CMMS
  • Identify spare parts, and consumables procurement need and prepare requisition for approval
  • Report and monitor gauges and controls data
  • Ensure all calibration records are always up to date and kept in records
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Support operations on as-need be basis in all areas of the plant
  • Flexibility in working hours; overtime and/or weekend work may be needed; available for on-call and after-hours work as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record, the ability to become mobile crane certified, man lift and forklift certified.
  • Knowledge and experience with power generation and or CHP equipment are a must
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems and understanding of integrated power generation systems
  • Strong competence of gaseous fueled reciprocating engines, 24VDC controls, and medium to high voltage electrical generation equipment
  • Proficient in PLC & Controls / Switch Gears Onsite or remote troubleshooting and repair of natural gas and biogas reciprocating piston engines

Job Skills

  • Ability to troubleshoot all fuel systems, switchgear, relays, protective relays, motors, pumps, PLCs, heating/cooling circuits and related ancillary components
  • Have the ability and capability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering specifications to maintain and fix equipment.
  • Perform basic diagnostic testing of related equipment
  • Ability to check machine performance, dismantle machines and remove parts for repair using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists
  • Test damaged parts in comparison to specifications and replace the damaged and worn parts if necessary
  • Ability to maintain records of repair and maintenance work using CMMS system
  • Capabilities to lead contract mechanical work activities outside the capabilities of our local staff
