Role Overview
Agilyx is seeking a motivated, talented, and result-driven individual to join our team. The ARC Laboratory Sales Representative is responsible for growing revenue by identifying, developing, and securing new customers worldwide for arcLABS services. You will be responsible for promoting arcLABS and bringing new business by building strong customer relationships, understanding client technical and commercial needs, and converting opportunities into contracted lab services.
You will act as the primary sales representative for arcLABS, working closely with lab operations and Agilyx leadership to ensure customer needs are clearly defined and delivered successfully. The role is not a beginner's sales job, it requires a proactive, self-driven sales professional who is comfortable selling technical services, and owning the full sales cycle. The successful candidate will be able to achieve the following:
Within 90 days: learn service and product offerings + lab constraints; create target account list; launch outbound cadence; deliver first qualified proposals; manage CRM baseline.
Within 180 days: consistent qualified pipeline; close deals to meet budget objectives; establish repeatable proposal/SOW workflow with lab operations.
Within 12 months: stable book of repeat customers; predictable quarterly pipeline coverage; contribution to service packaging and pricing learnings.
Role Objectives
- Establish and scale the sales process, helping define pricing, CRM tracking, and build a strong book of business for acrLABS.
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities for arcLABS laboratory and analytical services
- Develop and manage a sales pipeline, from initial outreach through signed agreements
- Serve as the primary sales point of contact for prospective and existing arcLABS customers
- Collaborate with arcLABS team to help identify customer technical and business needs into clearly defined scopes of work
- Work closely with arcLABS scientists, engineers, and leadership to align customer expectations with laboratory capabilities
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships to encourage repeat business and ongoing service agreements
- Represent arcLABS at industry events, conferences, site visits, and customer meetings as needed
- Track sales activity, opportunities, and performance metrics; provide regular updates to leadership
- Support development of sales materials, proposals, and customer-facing presentations
- Stay informed on market trends, customer needs, and competitive offerings in laboratory and analytical services
- Maintain accurate customer records
Services You Will Sell
The Sales Representative will be responsible for selling arcLABS services, including but not limited to:
- Feedstock characterization and identification of plastic materials
- Development of feedstock and customer/supplier specifications
- Sampling plans and QA/QC documentation, including Certificates of Analysis (COA)
- Bench‑scale and pilot‑scale analytical and process support
- Technical feasibility and process development support for recycling applications
Qualifications
Experience & Knowledge
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles in plastic recycling, manufacturing or related industry
- Proven ability to sell B2B technical, scientific, or professional services (lab services experience strongly preferred)
- Experience managing full sales cycles, including prospecting, qualification, proposal development, and closing
- Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working cross-functionally with technical, operational, and leadership teams
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities
- Proficient in CRM systems, sales tracking tools, and standard business software
Education
- Bachelor's degree in business, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, 5 or more years of relevant experience will be accepted

- Background in outside sales with a strong track record of achieving targets.

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Strong business judgment and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
- Comfortable representing the company externally and acting as a trusted advisor to customers
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability
Position Details
- Reports to: CTO
- Type: Full-time; Estimated first year OTE: $80k - $125k
- Work Hours: Flexible, but generally 8:00-5:00
- Location: Hybrid; Portland Metro preferred
- Travel: Up to 25%-50%
- Work Environment: Professional office, laboratory environment, and customer sites

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the anticipated starting pay for new hires for this position is between $80k - $125k per year, salary includes base pay plus target-based bonus.
